Dedicated to providing top-quality outpatient care to all of Southern Illinois,
in a relaxing, modern, and state-of-the-art facility.
Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires an additional 4 to 6 years of hospital-based surgical, medical, and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Burton manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Dr. Burton practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. We can also help diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures.
Our staff is trained in assisting with nitrous oxide analgesia, intravenous (IV) conscious sedation, and outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery.
The surgical staff at Shawnee Hills Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery are trained to assist with surgical procedures and in the administration of IV anesthesia. All clinical staff are CPR certified and undergo frequent testing in management of anesthetic emergencies.
